Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Mergers United for Commercial Mediation ("Company") respects the privacy of its users and is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with the laws of the State of Qatar, including Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Protection. This Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected, and sets out user rights. Use of the Platform constitutes consent to processing in accordance with this Policy.

2. Data Collected

The Platform may collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Registration Data: name, email, phone number, business information, and any other information necessary to provide the Services or required by law
  • Subscription & Payment Data: information required to process transactions — the Platform does not store users' card details
  • Usage & Technical Data: user activity, IP addresses, cookies, system logs, device and browser data
  • KYC & Compliance Data: identity documents, verification records, and compliance information required under applicable laws
  • Any other relevant information voluntarily provided by users or lawfully collected in connection with the use of the Platform

3. Use of Data

Personal data may be used for:

  • Providing, operating, and improving the Services
  • Managing accounts, subscriptions, payments, and credits
  • Enabling platform communication and matchmaking functionality
  • Communicating with users regarding updates, technical support, or system notices
  • Complying with legal, regulatory, anti-fraud, and KYC obligations
  • Other legitimate purposes related to service development, security, and prevention of misuse

Nothing in this Policy shall be construed as guaranteeing commercial outcomes or as the Company's participation in transactions between users.

4. Data Sharing

Personal data will not be shared with third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • Compliance with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements
  • Provision of services through approved service providers (e.g., payment processors, hosting, verification services) for operational purposes only
  • Corporate restructuring, merger, or acquisition, subject to equivalent data protection safeguards

All third parties are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards.

5. Data Protection & Security

The Company applies appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Access is restricted to authorized personnel bound by confidentiality obligations. The Platform does not store users' card information; payments are processed through secure, accredited providers.

6. User Rights

Users have the right to:

  • Access and correct their personal data
  • Request deletion of their data, subject to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Withdraw consent to processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
  • Object to certain processing activities in accordance with applicable law

7. Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, or protect the Company's legitimate interests. Data is securely deleted or anonymized thereafter.

8. International Data Transfers

Where data is transferred outside the State of Qatar (e.g., use of external hosting or processing services), the Company ensures appropriate legal and technical safeguards are in place to maintain an adequate level of data protection in accordance with applicable law.

9. Relationship to Other Policies

This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service, Anti-Fraud & KYC Policy, Content & Listing Policy, Dispute Resolution Policy, Customer Support SLA Policy, and Customer Complaint Management Policy. Any interpretation shall be consistent with the laws of the State of Qatar.

10. Policy Amendments

Mergers United reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Amendments shall take effect immediately upon publication on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.
